El Paso County Parks & Recreation Host
Winter Trout Reel-In Fishing Tournament 

EL PASO , TX - The El Paso County Parks & Recreation Department is excited to invite the community to participate in this year’s Winter Trout Reel-In Tournament. This adult fishing catch and release tournament will be held on Saturday, January 14 from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Ascarate Park.

Fishing participants can register at the El Paso County Parks & Recreation Administrative offices located at 6900 Delta, inside Ascarate Park. Early registration is $25 and deadline is Friday, January 13th. Late registration is $35 cash only and fees will be collected day of the event between 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.  The first 100 participants will receive a goodie bag with a logo knit beanie and snacks. 

First place will receive a trophy and all tournament participants will be entered into a raffle for additional prizes. There is a two-pole limit per angler, kayaks/boats (trolling motors only) are welcomed. A reminder that all anglers are required to have a fishing license issued by the State of Texas. Fishing licenses can be purchased at most sporting goods stores. Rules are available here.

There will be no parking fee for this event, shelter rentals are available for the day starting at $50. Shelter rentals should be made in advance at the Parks & Recreation admin office.
