El Paso County Parks & Recreation invites the community to go “Bear-Foot in the Park”. Residents are invited to experience the first over-night campout event hosted by the department at Ascarate Park. The family friendly event will take place July 12 to 13, beginning at 4:30pm on Friday.

“Bear-Foot in the Park” is part of El Paso County’s National Park & Recreation month celebration. The camp out adventure will have activities for the whole-family to enjoy. Activities will include:

·         Camping 101  - Learn the basics like tent setup, proper fire safety while making delicious s’mores

·         Outdoor activities – A scavenger hunt, fishing, swimming and much more.

·         Camp Out Movie – Enjoy the Avengers: Infinity War on a 40 ft. outdoor screen.

Future campers can sign up at the El Paso County Parks & Recreation Administrative offices located at 6900 Delta, inside Ascarate Park. Registration fees are $10 adults, $5 kids, deadline to register is Thursday, July 11th at 6pm.  Late registration ends on Friday July 12th and will include a $2 late fee.
